Production for season 8 of CBS’s comedy The Big Bang Theory
was set to begin this week but has been delayed.
"Due to ongoing contract negotiations, production on The Big Bang Theory
—which was originally scheduled to begin today—has been postponed," Warner Bros. TV released in a statement.
The delay comes after the show had been renewed for 3 more seasons but five of the shows stars had yet to agree to terms on a new contract. They include Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki, Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting, Simon Helberg and Kunal Nayyar who play Sheldon, Leonard, Penny, Howard, and Raj respectively. They are requesting to make close to $1 million per episode for the next three seasons.
